Hi, I'm Rebecca Danger — an artist, maker, author, and pattern designer living in the woods of Blaine, Washington with my husband James, our two sons Presley and Maverick, and our two small dogs Coco and Juniper.
I've been making things by hand for as long as I can remember, and selling my creative work since I was about twelve years old — starting with harp performances and moving through jewelry making, illustration, knitting patterns, sewing patterns, quilting, and whatever else calls to me on any given day. My sewing and knitting patterns have inspired makers around the world, with my books translated into multiple languages. I've written over 200 knitting and sewing patterns and published 5 books so far, with more on the way.
Right now I'm deep in the world of The Darlings — a collection of tiny handmade bears and bunnies that I knit and sew by hand in my studio. Barnaby the Persnickety Bear was my first new pattern since 2019, and making him reminded me how much I love this work.
I also make improv quilts, quilted homewares, illustrated art prints, and slow made handmade things of all kinds. My work reflects a deep belief in the value of making things slowly, by hand, with intention and care. In a world that can generate almost anything instantly, I find myself more committed than ever to keeping "made by human hands" alive.
From my sunny studio nestled in the woods, I find endless inspiration in the natural rhythms and textures of the Pacific Northwest — the foxgloves, the bumblebees, the particular way afternoon light falls through the trees.
