Hello From The Woods

Hi there! I'm Rebecca Danger, and I make slow made things by hand in my studio in the woods in Blaine, Washington.

If you've found your way here you might know me from my knitting patterns over at Danger Crafts on Ravelry, or maybe from my Happy Art animal illustrations, or perhaps from my weekly creative journal on YouTube. However you got here — welcome. I'm glad you found this little corner.

This blog is my new home base. A place to share what I'm making, what I'm thinking about, and what's happening in the studio. I'll be posting my weekly creative journal here in written form, sharing free tutorials and patterns, and generally documenting life as a maker in the woods in the Pacific Northwest.

Right now I am deep in the world of The Darlings — a collection of tiny handmade bears and bunnies that I knit and sew by hand. The knitted and sewn versions of Barnaby the Persnickety Bear just launched this week as my first new patterns since 2019. I have missed pattern writing more than I expected to.

I also make improv quilts, handmade quilted items, and whatever else calls to me on any given day. I believe in making things slowly, by hand, with intention. In a world that can generate almost anything instantly, I find myself more committed than ever to keeping human hands in the work.

So — hello from the woods. Pull up a chair. Stay a while. There's always something on the needles or my machine. ๐Ÿป๐ŸŒฒ๐Ÿงถ
