Barnaby The Persnickety Bear Sewing Pattern By Rebecca Danger
Meet Barnaby the Persnickety Bear — a very small bear with a very particular personality and a whole lot of quiet charm. Whether you're making him for yourself or as a gift, Barnaby has a way of finding exactly the right home. Each pattern includes a sweet story about Barnaby — he's a bear worth getting to know. 🐻
This sewing pattern from Rebecca Danger will show you how to sew your very own Barnaby bear in two sizes — a Tiny (3") and a Little (4"). These small scale bears are a wonderful sewing project and make the most charming gifts for bear lovers of all ages!
🐻Finished Tinies Bear measures approximately 3" tall
🐻Finished Littles Bear measures approximately 4" tall
🐻Great for using up treasured fabric scraps and fat quarters!
🐻Perfect for practicing precise small scale sewing skills!
🐻Fun to create for intermediate to advanced sewists!
🐻Pattern assumes basic sewing knowledge
🐻Fabric and notions requirements included in the pattern
🐻Over 50 step by step photos make this one of the most detailed patterns I have ever written!
A note on skill level: Due to the small scale of these bears, this pattern is best suited for intermediate to advanced sewists who are comfortable with precise seam allowances and detailed stitching. The pattern can be sewn by machine or by hand — step by step YouTube tutorials for sewing on the machine are available on my channel (search Rebecca Danger on YouTube). A larger, more beginner friendly version of Barnaby is coming soon!
Barnaby is also available as a knitting pattern! See the last photo to sew sewn and knitted side by side and check out my shop for the knitting pattern!
Follow along with the making: I share a weekly creative journal on YouTube documenting my creative life in my studio in the woods — from pattern writing to tiny knitted strawberries to whatever Barnaby is up to that week. Search Rebecca Danger on YouTube to follow along. 🐻
Want a finished Barnaby of your own? A small collection of slow made, one of a kind Barnaby bears are available to adopt at rebeccadanger.etsy.com — each one handmade with love by me in my studio in the woods in Blaine, Washington.
This pattern is designed to be easy to follow with clear instructions and lots of visuals. This pattern has been professionally laid out and checked by multiple testers.
