Who doesn't love a good hug? Ursula and Uma couldn't agree more and have extra long arms just for hugging! This knitting pattern will show you how to knit Ursula and Uma the Understanding Monsters, a pattern I designed to highlight the yummy hand-painted yarns from The Scarlet Fleece. This is a quick, easy, satisfying project that knits up quickly on many yarn/needle combinations. This pattern is very addicting and you will find yourself knitting a whole herd of huggable monsters!
More Info: Skill Level: Easy Skills used: Basic knit stitch, increases, decreases, knitting in the round (magic loop), holding live stitches and coming back to them later, basic embroidery skills. Amount of Time To Complete Project: About 8-12 hours depending on skill level Pattern Format: .pdf file
Suggested Yarn: We recommend the delicious yarns from The Scarlet Fleece, but you pick! Needles: You Pick! You will need a 36" or longer circular needle and a set of dpn's in the same size Gauge: The pattern is written to be knit on any yarn and needle combination: simply knit your yarn on needles 2-3 sizes small than those recommended to create a tight knit fabric the stuffing doesn't show through. Yardage: 220-260 yards for mom, 100-130 yards for baby.
This 4 page pattern is very clearly written and includes lots of pictures. Plus, there is lots of fun stuff in the pattern, like a little bio on the mom and kiddo and tons of helpful pictures.
